Topics in Database and Spreadsheet Use and Development for Appraisers Credit info: 7.5 hours

Excel: This class will explore the development of creating spreadsheets with MS Excel. One of the primary goals is to integrate the subject matter taught to be applied in carrying out appraisal development and reporting processes. NOTE: The class will also discuss appraisal issues as they are relevant to producing credible appraisal assignments and reports that are not misleading. USPAP issues and practical appraisal issues will be introduced throughout the session. Access: Database management concepts will be introduced using Microsoft Access. Participants will learn how to store all types of appraisal information in a way that it can be quickly found, sorted and reported. This seminar has been approved for 7.5 hours continuing education E/B credit by the MA Board of Registration of RE Appraisers

Advanced Topics: Database and Spreadsheet Use and Development for Appraisers Credit info: 7.5 hours

This class is a continuation of Topics in Database and Spreadsheet Use and Development for Appraisers. It will focus on the development of creating spreadsheets with MS Excel with the goal of integrating advanced subject matter to be applied in carrying out appraisal develoment and reporting. Key topics in Excel to be covered include: (1) Linking multiple sheets and workbooks to obtain summary information of yearly budgets and monthly expense reports. (2) Creating Pivot Tables to analyze and forecast data. This seminar has been approved for 7.5 hours of continuing education E/B credit by the MA Board of Registration of RE Appraisers.

Appraiser's Overview of Microsoft Office Software Credit info: 7.5 hours

The Microsoft Office Suite contains a variety of popular end-user software that offers many features and functions that can make you more productive. The course will focus on tips, techniques and shortcuts that will allow you to take advantage of the Office Suite software. Utilizing many hands-on, practical exercises, students will learn more about the use of, as well as the integration of, MS-Word documents, MS-PowerPoint graphics, MS-Access databases and MS-Excel spreadsheets. NOTE: This class is designed for beginning computer users and for persons desiring a refresher course. The materials and methods are designed to be flexible in order to accommodate different levels of accomplishments and learning styles.This seminar has been approved for 7.5 hours continuing education E/B credit by the MA Board of Registration of RE Appraisers.

Advanced Virtual Real Estate Appraising 
Credit info:  hours residential or nonresidential/commercial

This advanced course will build upon knowledge gained in the first offering. It is recommended that students have some basic knowledge of computers and word processing and spreadsheet software and familiarity with Internet research. Using computer lab resources and on-line access, practicing appraisers can enhance their computer skills to more effectively obtain data, analyze it and properly present it. Topics to be covered include advanced World Wide Web resources and research techniques, advanced database concepts (creating an application system using macros, developing relational tables and complex queries and reports), advanced spreadsheets (pivot tables, data forms, creating scenarios and goal seekeing), advanced word processing (automated and electronic forms, customized reports with columns, tables and graphics, importing and exporting documents). This course has been approved by the Massachusetts Board of Registration of Real Estate Appraisers for 15 hours of credit.
